I am a retired elementary teacher, reading specialist, and above all, reading advocate.

Established in 2018

  I developed Read to a Seed as a tool to help during shared reading.  Whether a reader or listener, both parties benefit from reading together.
  Any time spent reading together is beneficial but more and more children need some basic strategies to take with them as they enter school. 
​  The Read to a Seed Wheel provides these basic strategies in a simplified way while helping children begin to recognize the beginnings of the print world.
  Watering the seed provides a fun purpose for reading each day.

The Kit

The delightful, Read to a Seed Growth kit is housed in a small, burlap bag just the perfect size to hold a 100% biodegradable plant kit, a small watering spout,  and the "How to Read to a Seed" instructional wheel.
