Read to a Seed -
helping to build a daily practice of reading together

The Adventure Begins

"Guide for Learning Your ABC's"

Support your early learner with this sleeve of easily sliding alphabet cards.  Put one in and slide it to reveal a letter, its sound and a picture.  Simple for parents and fun for children, the sleeve also provides a place for writing the child's name and a tracking system for letters/sounds learned.

Atherton Elementary School
Atherton Elementary School gave a Read to a Seed literacy kit to each student at the end of the school year.  Each week, during the summer, students were invited to bring their plant and receive an extra book.  Students read, measured and charted their (and their plant's) growth.
Additionally, those students who brought their plant back on the first day of the next school year received a prize.

"It's so cool when we read together (with the seed).  It's like we're reading to a person, but it's a seed!"

" We loved the read to a seed. He is still reading to it and he asks to read to it. Before he would put up a fight to read.

I feel like this program is exactly what my child needed. I loved the read to a seed assignment. It made my child actually want to read for the fun of it instead of it being a chore. Thank you all so much for dedicating your time and energy into helping my child succeed."
